Quirk Auto Group Sponsors the America East Championship at Cross Insurance Arena

When the America East Women's Basketball Championship came to Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Quirk Auto Group was proud to stand behind it as a sponsor — and to cheer on the University of Maine Black Bears playing in front of a hometown crowd.

The America East Conference has crowned a women's basketball champion since 1985, with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line every March. Maine holds the record for the most women's titles in conference history, and having the championship played in Portland gave Maine fans a rare chance to watch that history unfold close to home.

Basketball at this level is decided in stretches, and Maine's players gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about, building a big lead by halftime. Between the band, the packed stands, and the in-arena energy, Cross Insurance Arena felt every bit like a championship venue.

Quirk Auto Group is glad to support America East athletics and the student-athletes who make tournament week one of the best in Maine sports.
