Quirk Chevrolet Portland Sponsors Throttle Car Club's Collector Auction

When 86 collector cars go up for auction two hours north of Boston, word gets around. Throttle Car Club's May 20, 2023 auction at their 35,000-square-foot Scarborough headquarters drew nearly 300 registered bidders, a food truck, a cocktail reception, and some of the rarest vehicles in the Northeast — topped by a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette that closed at $120,000.

Quirk Chevrolet of Portland was proud to sponsor the event, alongside a lineup that included Hagerty, Mercedes-Benz of Scarborough, Berlin City Lexus of Portland, Morong Falmouth, Yankee Ford, NAPA Auto Parts Northeast, and more than a dozen other Maine businesses. Proceeds from select vehicles, including a 26-mile 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, were split between Make-A-Wish Maine and two Blue Collar Scholarship funds.

Throttle Car Club opened in Scarborough in 2021 as a social club and vehicle storage facility before growing into one of the region's premier auction and event venues — a home base for people who take cars seriously, built around community as much as horsepower.

Thanks to Throttle Car Club for putting on one of the best car events in the Northeast, and to everyone who came out to bid, buy a ticket, or just look at some incredible machines.

Eighty-six collector cars, nearly 300 bidders, and proceeds that helped fund Make-A-Wish Maine — a Scarborough auction that turned car culture into community support.
