Quirk Portland Employees Support McAuley Residence with $1,265 Donation

Recovery is hard enough without also losing your housing, your kids, or your sense of who you are. Since 1988, McAuley Residence has given women in recovery from drug and alcohol dependency a place to rebuild all three at once.

The program, affiliated with Northern Light Mercy Hospital, provides transitional housing for women with and without children, paired with a three-phase approach that runs roughly eighteen months to two years — stabilizing care and support in phase one, education and family-focused goals in phase two, and a supported transition to independent housing in phase three. It is guided by the Sisters of Mercy philosophy of compassionate care, with particular concern for disadvantaged women and children.

Employees at Quirk Chevrolet of Portland came together for a $1,265 donation, presented to Kin Toppi of McAuley Residence on the showroom floor. The program's staff collaborates with Mercy Hospital and community providers across Maine to give women the practical skills and support they need to embrace recovery in every part of their lives.

Our thanks to Kin Toppi and everyone at McAuley Residence for work that changes the course of families, one at a time.

Presented to Kin Toppi of McAuley Residence, this employee donation helps women in recovery rebuild their housing, their families, and their futures at the same time.
