Irish Night at Hadlock Field — Shamrocks, a 9-5 Win, and Fireworks

Irish Night at Hadlock Field is one of those evenings that reminds you why minor league baseball works the way it does. Green shamrock jerseys, a packed grandstand, a warm June night in Portland, and a crowd that came out for the whole experience rather than just the box score.

The Sea Dogs obliged with a 9-5 win over Reading. Then the lights went down and the fireworks went up over center field, which is about as good an ending as a Friday night in Maine gets.
